This month promises to have some fun stuff to do, and if you followed my advise and saved some money maybe you’ll enough enough left over to enjoy whats coming up.
A play called The Custodian will be opening up for a few days. When a superhero finishes up his latest battle, who cleans up the mess? The Custodian does. It’s only playing from April 1st to April 5th, and it’s a small production, but may be worth a look.
Sunday Mocca will be hosting a Book “Raunch” Party for Craig Yoe’s new book Secret Identity. The book is about the fetish art by Joe Shuster who most comic book fans know as the co-creator of Superman. There will be a DJs, BDSM Fetishist as well as other comic book fans. Head on over and have a blast. Additionally you can visit Craig Yoe’s website for extra details about his book.
This Friday we have the first day of I-Con. If you’ve never been, this is a great convention: mainly sci-fi, but also includes fantasy, anime, comic books, etc. Plenty of movie rooms and panels. The celebrities are always fun and interesting, tons of costumers are on hand. Fans of every genre will be there to represent their favorite series. I-Con has a new home in Suffolk County Community College, so don’t look for it in Stonybrook like past years. Also, make sure to check the I-Con Website to make sure you are informed of their schedule as well as their travel arrangements, specifically for those of you using public transport on Sunday.
Friday and Saturday are the last two showings for the Cronenberg Series at the IFC Theater. The movie will be Naked Lunch. If you are a Beatles fan they will be showing Hard Days Night this Friday and Saturday midnight at the Sunshine Landmark Theater.
